Site Reliability Engineer, SRE – Engineering Productivity

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Develop, deploy securely and incrementally, and manage essential production systems with an emphasis on scalability, reliability, observability, performance, and security.

• Create automation to eliminate repetitive tasks and proactively monitor, address, and improve alerts with automated responses.

• Generate and uphold incident response runbooks, prioritize platform and infrastructure issues, and draft postmortem reports to mitigate future incidents.

• Schedule and communicate maintenance periods for production systems while collaborating with third-party vendor support as necessary.

• Collaborate with Arista's product development teams to pinpoint infrastructural bottlenecks and devise solutions to improve developer experience and workflow efficiency.

• Research and implement best practices in infrastructure and platform design to ensure systems are secure, scalable, and fault-tolerant, including analyzing open-source system implementations for enhanced triage and resolution.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a BSc in Computer Science or Engineering with 3 years of relevant experience, or an MS in Computer Science or Engineering with 3 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Go, Python, or shell scripting to execute medium complexity automation workflows.

• Familiarity with Linux (or UNIX) from both administrative and debugging perspectives.

• Practical experience in managing software systems (including infrastructure and complex applications) at scale.

• Experience in server provisioning, especially from a storage and networking standpoint.

• Excellent problem-solving and software troubleshooting abilities.

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code methodologies.
