Site Reliability Engineer I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Serve as the initial point of contact for all customer-related issues.

• Be a crucial contributor in managing the resolution of technical challenges.

• Ensure compliance with incident management processes and complete incident post-mortems to identify process deviations and opportunities for improvement.

• Maintain consistent communication with management.

• Respond to Zabbix alerts and perform regular monitoring, taking direct action on alerts or escalating as necessary. Acknowledge every alert if direct action is taken or inform the escalation point of contact.

• Ensure successful handoffs of escalations.

• Oversee the health of pods across all locations (define pod alerts in Zabbix).

• Conduct daily filesystem checks for pods.

• Troubleshoot technical issues for Data Center Technicians, addressing advanced pod inquiries, deployment inquiries, migration troubleshooting, and Ansible playbook challenges.

• Identify and escalate potential network issues.

• Manage Vault pre-deployment configurations and testing.

• Initiate Vault migrations, monitor migration pods, and conduct relevant migration pod health checks.

• Document and work on automating daily tasks.

• Document and provide Network IP addresses for upcoming deployments.

• Monitor releases and updates to the server farm, escalating issues as they arise.

• Participate in on-call rotation shifts.

• Support fellow TechOps team members with various tasks.

• Suggest improvements to enhance organizational productivity.

• Be available to work outside of regular business hours (weekend shifts, holidays, and evenings) as needed.

• Must reside in Bangalore.

• 2 to 4 years of relevant experience required.

• Proficiency in Sysadmin and Linux skills.

• Eagerness to learn and develop essential technical skills.

• Strong analytical thinking abilities.

• Excellent interpersonal skills for collaboration and communication with different teams.

• Familiarity with network cabling, network classification, and network topology.
