Site Reliability Engineer – Confidential Computing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Switzerland.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and implement Confidential Computing at the hypervisor level.

• Create and manage Exoscale’s operating systems and hypervisor fleets, encompassing kernels to network stacks, including security filtering layers.

• Contribute to the implementation of routing and security automation systems.

• Assist in shaping our strategy for operating system images, from bare metal to Virtual Machines.

• Maintain and enhance the system container runtimes.

• Optimize our provisioning and deployment systems.

• Work to improve the performance of bare metal and hypervisor systems.

• Contribute to the overall design and architecture of Exoscale platform systems.

• Participate in the development of internal tools.

• Enhance our systems and processes to ensure scalability and high availability, helping to achieve exceptional SLAs.

• Engage in code and changes reviews.

• Join the on-call rotation after completing a training period.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possess substantial experience with Linux, its kernel, and systems.

• Have knowledge of Confidential Computing and related concepts, including hardware-level aspects (AMD SEV, Intel TDX, or equivalent).

• Be acquainted with Secure Boot, chain of trust, attestation, and key management.

• Be familiar with KVM virtualization.

• Have a strong understanding of eBPF.

• Have solid knowledge of container runtimes.

• Have practical experience with Golang and Python.

• Have experience with configuration management solutions and large-scale infrastructure.

• Enjoy automating processes wherever possible and are inclined to document your work.

• Be curious, self-directed, and eager to learn new things daily.

• Be a team player who is comfortable working within a distributed team.

• Possess strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
