Site Reliability Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Drive pivotal technical initiatives aimed at enhancing the reliability, performance, and scalability of our essential systems, often taking the lead on technical elements within projects.

• Design and deploy sophisticated, resilient, and scalable solutions, utilizing your profound understanding of distributed systems.

• Spearhead complex troubleshooting activities, pinpoint deep-rooted causes, and execute advanced optimizations.

• Create and promote the adoption of robust automation frameworks and tools, potentially mentoring junior engineers in their development.

• Develop and implement thorough and insightful monitoring and logging solutions, ensuring actionable insights are accessible across various teams.

• Assume a leadership role in incident management, offering crucial technical guidance and mentorship during high-stress scenarios.

• Lead and participate in comprehensive blameless post-mortem analyses, driving substantial improvements based on insights gained.

• Share your extensive expertise and experience to mentor and guide fellow SREs and engineers, nurturing their technical advancement.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of extensive experience in SRE, platform engineering, or software development with a strong operational emphasis.

• Proven experience in providing technical leadership, guidance, or mentorship to engineering teams.

• Expert-level practical knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly GCP.

• In-depth hands-on experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Helm, ArgoCD).

• Proficient in multiple scripting and programming languages (Python, Go, Bash).

• Demonstrated expertise in constructing and utilizing advanced monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).

• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills at a senior level.

• Outstanding communication, collaboration, and influencing abilities.

• Organizational and leadership skills are highly advantageous.
