Site Reliability Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Ensure the availability, performance, and resilience of digital banking and financial services platforms.

• Automate operational processes while establishing and maintaining service-level objectives, error budgets, and reliability targets.

• Manage the service lifecycle from code integration to production deployment.

• Guarantee that changes adhere to applicable financial regulations.

• Perform reliability risk assessments and blast-radius evaluations before implementing production changes.

• Facilitate go/no-go decisions in collaboration with engineering, QA, compliance, and operations stakeholders.

• Take ownership of build, test, and deployment pipelines across staging, UAT, and production environments.

• Design and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines and enforce version control policies.

• Engineer strategies for zero-downtime deployments and low-impact changes.

• Create and maintain rollback, failover, and disaster recovery runbooks.

• Work alongside Information Security and Compliance teams to uphold data protection and privacy standards.

• Keep audit-ready documentation for changes, incidents, and remediation actions.

• Assist with internal and external audits.

• Promote automation, standardization, and enhancements in observability.

• Conduct blameless post-incident reviews to prevent recurrence.

• Contribute to initiatives aimed at advancing DevOps and SRE maturity.

• Act as a liaison between product, development, and compliance teams regarding production health and change-related risks.

• Communicate the scope of changes, reliability risks, and incident statuses to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Provide reliability reports, SLO metrics, and incident trends to senior management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related area.

• 5–7 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Platform Engineering within the financial services or fintech sector.

• Practical experience in maintaining reliability for real-time transaction systems, mobile banking applications, or payment gateways.

• Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements and their operational implications for production systems.

• Experience with CI/CD tools.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.

• Proficient in Docker and Kubernetes.

• Strong command of Python and Bash scripting.

• Experience with Terraform and Ansible.

• Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools.

• Exceptional cross-functional collaboration and communication skills across engineering and compliance teams.

• Meticulous attention to detail and proactive in identifying risks and potential failures.

• Capability to perform under pressure and respond effectively during incidents and regulatory deadlines.
