Site Reliability Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Manage daily production operations - including on-call duties, incident response, postmortem analyses, and ensuring follow-ups effectively close the loop.

• Take ownership of the reliability practice - establish and enhance SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets, while assisting product teams in adhering to them.

• Enhance our observability framework across metrics, logs, traces, and alerting systems.

• Deploy infrastructure through code within a GitOps workflow, covering both cloud resources and Kubernetes workloads.

• Oversee PostgreSQL tasks: performance optimization, schema and migration assessments, online migrations for large tables, high availability/disaster recovery, and change data capture pipelines.

• Guide engineers on reliability and database principles through code reviews, design reviews, and collaborative work.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in SRE, DevOps, Platform/Infrastructure, or backend engineering with considerable ownership of production operations.

• Practical experience in managing production services on Kubernetes and deploying infrastructure as code using a GitOps workflow.

• Strong working knowledge of PostgreSQL in production environments—understanding query plans, pg_stat_*, indexing strategies, schema trade-offs, and executing safe online migrations on complex tables.

• Familiarity with cloud networking fundamentals (VPCs, routing, L4/L7 load balancing, DNS, TLS) and the ability to troubleshoot cross-service connectivity issues.

• Proficient with a modern observability stack and comfortable with Linux at the operational level.

• Experienced in incident response - maintaining composure under pressure, structured debugging, and conducting postmortems that lead to improvements.

• At least working proficiency in Go or Python, alongside strong written and verbal communication skills.

• A genuine interest in databases and a desire to expand your PostgreSQL/DBA knowledge.
