Site Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Site leadership: Act as the primary on-the-ground leader for Oscilar in India, facilitating the development of a high-trust, high-performance extension of the larger organization.

• Team leadership: Oversee managers and/or senior individual contributors within backend engineering, analytics, integrations, and related product teams as the Indian organization expands.

• Operational excellence: Establish and enhance scalable workflows across planning, execution, quality, and incident management while upholding a high standard for reliable delivery.

• Cross-functional impact: Collaborate closely with product and executive leadership to align technical roadmaps with overarching business objectives through effective estimation, prioritization, and execution.

• Process design: Create operating rhythms that enhance collaboration across time zones, clarify ownership, and boost engineering effectiveness without adding unnecessary overhead.

• Talent and leadership development: Recruit, mentor, and retain top-tier talent while cultivating a robust local leadership pipeline within engineering and product.

• Technical quality: Elevate the standards of technical judgment, design quality, reliability, observability, and service ownership across the India team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience leading software engineering and/or product teams within technical organizations.

• Proven track record in managing technical teams and their leaders.

• Demonstrated operational excellence, including rigorous planning processes and a commitment to predictable, high-quality execution.

• Robust experience in designing or enhancing team processes, delivery workflows, and cross-functional operating models.

• Strong technical judgment paired with sufficient engineering expertise to assess architecture, execution risks, and engineering quality with credibility.

• Solid product sense and the ability to collaborate on roadmaps, sequencing, trade-offs, and customer/business impact.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, with experience collaborating across distributed teams.

• Background in building teams and operating within ambiguous, rapidly changing environments.

• Experience in fintech, fraud, credit risk, AML, compliance, or other regulated sectors is a considerable advantage.

• Previous experience as a founder, in a startup, or in an entrepreneurial role is a plus.
