Simultaneous Interpreter — Portuguese to English

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Conduct interpretation sessions remotely in a professional manner, adhering to the interpreter’s code of conduct.

• Be prepared to take notes during interpretation sessions.

• Familiarize yourself with industry-specific vocabulary, particularly in healthcare and medical fields.

• Ensure accurate and complete interpretation without adding, omitting, or substituting any information.

• Provide exceptional customer service during interpretation sessions.

• Facilitate effective communication between individuals with limited English proficiency and clients.

• Participate in internal professional training and pursue additional certifications as necessary.

• Maintain communication with and report to your team leader.

• Adhere to dress code requirements for remote interpretation sessions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Fluency in English and native proficiency in Portuguese.

• A minimum of 1 year of remote interpretation experience with a reputable organization.

• Strong understanding of medical terminology; familiarity with legal terminology is an advantage.

• International healthcare-related certifications (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA) are beneficial.

• High school diploma (in your native language).

• High emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity.

• Excellent communication, active listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
