Shopify Developer – Full Stack

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and sustain Shopify storefronts and themes, emphasizing performance, responsiveness, and clean Liquid coding.

• Develop integrated Shopify applications that function within the Shopify admin, incorporating OAuth installation flows, session token authentication, and administrative interfaces.

• Construct theme app extensions and deploy them via Shopify CLI without interfering with the merchant's theme.

• Collaborate with Shopify Admin, Storefront, and Cart APIs, as well as webhooks and App Proxy.

• Model structured content and configurations using metaobjects and metafields.

• Design and oversee backend services and database schemas that underpin app functionality.

• Integrate with external systems and APIs such as ERPs, CRMs, 3PLs, and support platforms, ensuring effective management of failures, retries, and timeouts.

• Securely manage API credentials and sensitive information, including encryption at rest and preventing secrets from appearing in logs and user interfaces.

• Convert designs from the design team into functional, accessible interfaces.

• Create unit and integration tests as part of the standard delivery process.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues across the stack, from storefront rendering to backend integration failures.

• Engage in code reviews and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• Demonstrated experience as a Shopify Developer, with a portfolio to present.

• Proficient in Liquid and experienced in building on Shopify 2.0, including sections and blocks.

• Hands-on experience with Shopify APIs: Admin (GraphQL and REST), Storefront, and Cart.

• Experience in developing embedded Shopify apps: OAuth, session tokens, App Bridge, and Polaris.

• Familiarity with theme app extensions and the Shopify CLI.

• Working knowledge of metaobjects and metafields as a structured content layer.

• Proficient with Shopify webhooks: subscription, verification, and reliable processing.

• Strong frontend skills, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React.

• Experience with TypeScript in production environments, not just as a preference.

• Proficient in Node.js for backend development, with Remix preferred; significant experience with Next.js or equivalent is acceptable.

• Experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design, migrations, and using an ORM like Prisma or Drizzle.

• Integration with third-party APIs with appropriate error handling, retries, and validation.

• Familiarity with Git and a pull request-based workflow, with experience in CI/CD.

• Experience with Shopify Plus.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently on multiple projects.
