Shopify Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Egypt.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of all development tasks related to the Shopify storefront, encompassing themes, templates, and custom features.

• Create and refresh landing pages, collection pages, product detail pages (PDPs), and promotional content.

• Tailor Shopify themes and storefront functionalities as required.

• Ensure optimal site performance, maintain Core Web Vitals, accessibility standards, and overall technical integrity.

• Assist in launching ecommerce campaigns and updating the site from implementation through to deployment.

• Implement and manage Shopify applications, third-party integrations, and tracking or analytics tools.

• Efficiently troubleshoot technical issues, bugs, and errors on the storefront.

• Enhance site functionality, performance, and the overall customer experience.

• Guarantee that storefront pages are optimized for conversion and usability.

• Collaborate closely with internal creative and marketing teams to execute ecommerce initiatives and campaigns.

• Optimize the storefront for AI-driven search experiences, including ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, and Claude.

• Implement structured data, schema markup, llms.txt, and other technical foundations that enable LLMs to accurately interpret and cite the brand.

• Work alongside marketing teams to enhance product, collection, and content pages for both traditional SEO and generative engine optimization (GEO/AEO).

• Monitor the representation of the brand in AI-generated responses and suggest improvements.

• Keep up-to-date with leading AI tools across development, marketing, content, and operations.

• Identify opportunities for AI-enhanced workflows and operational efficiencies across departments.

• Assist leadership and internal teams with practical AI adoption through documentation, collaboration, and workflow guidance.

• Pilot and implement internal AI workflows related to content generation, customer support assistance, merchandising automation, and operational enhancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience working within Shopify environments.

• Proven experience in customizing Shopify themes and storefront functionalities.

• Demonstrated ability to apply AI tools to practical workflows, either in a professional or personal context.

• Proficiency in Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

• Experience in implementing Shopify apps, integrations, and third-party tools.

• Familiarity with ecommerce user experience (UX) and conversion-focused development.

• Working knowledge of technical SEO, structured data, and schema implementation.

• Exposure to GEO, AEO, or LLM search optimization is highly preferred.

• Hands-on familiarity with modern AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, and Perplexity.

• Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts and assist teams in effectively adopting AI tools.

• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Detail-oriented and highly organized, capable of managing multiple priorities and executing tasks promptly.

• Comfortable working independently in fast-paced ecommerce environments.
