This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +8 more states.
β’ Oversee designated settlement files from initiation to final payment.
β’ Recognize, monitor, and resolve medical liens, provider balances, subrogation claims, as well as Medicare, Medicaid, ERISA, and other reimbursement claims.
β’ Liaise with clients, attorneys, providers, insurance companies, and third parties regarding the status of settlements and liens.
β’ Request, assess, and organize lien documentation, balances, reductions, and pertinent records.
β’ Negotiate lien reductions with providers and third parties based on level of experience.
β’ Prepare and verify settlement statements and disbursement documents for precision.
β’ Coordinate settlement documents for signatures, which include settlement sheets, releases, hold harmless agreements, office letters, and W-9 forms.
β’ Keep track of outstanding documents, checks, balances, and follow-up items.
β’ Ensure accurate and complete documentation within the case management system.
β’ Monitor overdue, returned, rejected, or reissued settlement checks.
β’ Review files for completeness prior to disbursement.
β’ Escalate complex lien matters, disputed balances, financial inconsistencies, or unusual file issues as necessary.
β’ Support settlement processes, file accuracy, and departmental procedures.
β’ May involve managing more intricate settlement files with minimal supervision.
β’ Handle advanced lien negotiations and higher-risk reimbursement scenarios.
β’ Collaborate closely with attorneys on challenging lien or settlement strategy issues.
β’ Review settlement files for financial accuracy and audit preparedness.
β’ Assist newer team members with questions related to workflow and best practices.
β’ Identify recurring problems and suggest process enhancements.
β’ Experience in personal injury preferred.
β’ Previous experience in settlement, lien resolution, case management, or legal support is preferred.
β’ Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, ERISA, medical liens, and subrogation claims is advantageous.
β’ Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
β’ Strong organizational skills and ability to follow up effectively.
β’ Capability to manage multiple files, deadlines, and varying elements.
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
β’ Strong financial accuracy and skills in settlement mathematics.
β’ Professional communication ability with clients, attorneys, providers, and insurance representatives.
β’ Proficient in Excel, Outlook, and case management systems.
β’ Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
