Setswana <> English OPI/VRI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Zimbabwe.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls professionally, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be prepared to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary relevant to the industry you are interpreting in (particularly healthcare and medical).

• Accurately convey all messages, ensuring completeness without adding, omitting, or substituting any content.

• Deliver exceptional customer service during interpretation.

• Facilitate effective communication between clients with limited English proficiency and the service provider by accurately interpreting messages.

• Adhere to established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional development training.

• Show enthusiasm for obtaining new professional certifications.

• Communicate regularly with your team leader.

• Follow dress code policies for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Setswana".

• Over 1 year of experience in telephone interpretation with a reputable interpreting company.

• Solid understanding of medical terminology.

• Knowledge of legal terminology is an advantage.

• International certifications related to the healthcare industry are beneficial (such as PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
