ServiceNow Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Mentor various project teams and client organizations on effectively utilizing Agile/Scrum practices and values to enhance client satisfaction.

• Advise assigned project teams on maximizing benefits from self-organization.

• Assist project teams in self-organizing to address intentional gaps within the Agile/Scrum frameworks.

• Evaluate the Scrum maturity of the project team and organization, coaching them towards higher maturity levels at a comfortable and sustainable pace.

• Eliminate obstacles and/or guide the team in resolving impediments by identifying the appropriate personnel to address them.

• Foster a trusting environment where issues can be raised without fear of blame or judgment, focusing on healing and problem-solving.

• Facilitate work completion without coercion, assigning, or dictating tasks.

• Lead discussions, decision-making, and conflict resolution processes.

• Aid in internal and external communications, enhancing transparency, and disseminating information effectively.

• Support and educate the Product Sponsor, especially regarding grooming and maintaining the product backlog.

• Provide comprehensive support to the team using a servant leadership approach whenever possible, leading by example.

• Analyze resource utilization for ongoing projects and assess future resource allocation needs.

• Establish and promote continuous development and tracking of additional service revenue opportunities within the client’s environment.

• Understand client requirements and align them with appropriate services or products while managing expectations.

• Communicate project goals and critical success factors effectively, persuasively selling ideas and pacing communications appropriately.

• Plan and coordinate all facets of technical projects from initiation to delivery.

• Ensure client satisfaction and successful service delivery through proficient project management.

• Oversee project initiation activities, which encompass identifying contractual obligations, client needs and goals, existing conditions, and necessary contacts, while accessing existing information as required.

• Develop, define, and execute project plans, including project scope, activities, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.

• Identify required resources for projects while defining and assigning key project roles.

• Coordinate activities and tasks among project team members, other internal departments, and client or vendor/subcontractor organizations as needed to achieve project objectives, ensuring completion on schedule and within budget while meeting quality standards.

• Assign and supervise project team tasks, providing technical and analytical support and guidance.

• Engage with clients on technical matters as necessary.

• Manage project risks, issues, and activity progress to ensure project goals, including deadlines, scope, and quality, are met.

• Assist with problem resolution or risk mitigation as required.

• Oversee the integration of vendor/subcontractor tasks and monitor vendor/subcontractor deliverables, if applicable to the project.

• Conduct project closure activities to formalize and communicate project acceptance, handover documentation, and ongoing activities, including completing a post-implementation review to identify improvement opportunities.

• Identify gaps in project management coordination processes or areas for enhancement, recommending and implementing solutions.

• Utilize Ahead systems (Salesforce, FinancialForce, etc.) to maintain up-to-date project information.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong capability to independently manage medium to high-risk, high-complexity, and high-visibility projects.

• Knowledgeable in project management standards, processes, procedures, and guidelines using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

• Familiar with industry project management best practices (e.g., Project Management Body of Knowledge - PMBOK).

• Informed about the company's products and services.

• Solid understanding of various IT project methodologies and life cycles (e.g., conversions, incremental, rapid delivery, classic or traditional waterfall phases of analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation) and their correct application.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, teamwork, conflict management, and time management skills.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Must possess experience with data center infrastructure hardware and/or software.

• Advanced skills in using project management software.

• Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets and timelines.

• Proficient in negotiation techniques to reach agreements amid differing viewpoints.

• Effective in facilitating interactions with executive-level clients.

• Consistently set clear expectations, manage team performance, and foster high morale among team members.

• Capable of maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive assignments.
