ServiceNow CMDB Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the designated DBMS-based application system and its related security protocols.

• Deliver project status updates to the Database Administration Supervisor.

• Aid in configuration management and database control programming activities.

• Engage in 24-hour on-call support for Applications Development sectors.

• Track production database space usage and suggest design modifications or reorganizations.

• Determine and assign space for testing databases.

• Supervise standards and procedures to ensure production database recoverability and availability.

• Take part in disaster recovery testing initiatives.

• Assess database performance and propose enhancements for schemas, tables, procedures, and permissions.

• Offer consultation and assistance in database and program design and implementation.

• Carry out additional responsibilities as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related discipline, or five years of relevant experience in place of a degree.

• At least three years of direct experience in Database Administration, Database Operations, Computer Operations, or Systems Programming.

• A minimum of one year of experience with Database Management Software (DBMS).

• Proficiency in at least one programming language.

• Familiarity with relevant operating systems, utilities, shell scripts, visual editors, or related database tools.

• Experience or certifications in ServiceNow ITOM Discovery, Service Mapping, and System Administrator is preferred.

• Knowledge of IBM Db2, MySQL, Oracle Database, Oracle Active Data Guard, and SQL.

• Understanding of ServiceNow Administration/ITOM, including Discovery, Service Mapping, Service Graph Connectors, and CSDM.

• Capability to support database security, backup and recovery, monitoring, performance, and disaster recovery.

• Willingness to participate in 24-hour on-call support.

• Must comply with information security, confidentiality, and segregation-of-duties protocols.
