ServiceNow Business Analyst, Quality Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct independent analysis and ensure release quality for a Federal Agency's ServiceNow platform.

• Gather, analyze, document, and validate business requirements, process workflows, data needs, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Manage themes, epics, features, stories, dependencies, backlog, sprint/release artifacts, and planning data within ServiceNow SPM/Agile capabilities or the Agency-sanctioned work-management framework.

• Aid in prioritization based on business value, urgency, risk mitigation, dependencies, and workload/capacity.

• Facilitate the clarification of requirements among product owners, users, administrators, developers, implementation experts, architects, testers, and external teams.

• Take ownership of the platform's testing strategy, regression baseline, release-quality documentation, and standardized testing practices.

• Design, develop, maintain, and execute ServiceNow ATF suites.

• Create and perform functional, integration, regression, exploratory, performance, and release-validation testing scenarios.

• Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with product owners and stakeholders.

• Analyze defects, monitor remediation and retesting efforts, and identify recurring defect patterns.

• Prepare release documentation and readiness assessments for governance and go/no-go decisions.

• Confirm upgrade and patch readiness via regression packs, pre/post comparisons, and focused integration testing.

• Conduct post-production validation and rollback verification.

• Assess automation coverage, regression effectiveness, escaped defects, test cycle duration, and recurring failure trends.

• Maintain reusable testing guidelines and mentor implementation/product teams on approved ServiceNow testing methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of three years of experience in business analysis and software quality engineering or test automation, including enterprise web/application testing.

• At least two years of practical experience in ServiceNow testing, including Automated Test Framework (ATF), regression testing, and validation of platform configurations and integrations.

• Proven experience in designing risk-based test plans, test cases, traceability, defect workflows, release documentation, and post-production validation.

• Familiarity with testing REST/SOAP or IntegrationHub integrations, workflows/flows, security/ACL behavior, catalog features, and cross-system transactions.

• Working knowledge of ServiceNow release/change protocols.

• Capability to assess readiness independently from the engineer responsible for the change.

• U.S. citizenship is required.

• Must meet High-Risk IT background investigation and sensitive information requirements.

• ServiceNow CSA and ATF-related training/micro-certifications are highly preferred.

• Additional testing certifications such as ISTQB are a plus.

• Experience in federal consulting or financial regulatory environments is preferred.

• Familiarity with ServiceNow family-upgrade testing, Performance Analytics, performance testing, and CI/CD-triggered automated tests is preferred.

• Experience in building reusable enterprise regression suites and test-evidence dashboards is preferred.
