This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Manage a portfolio of serious injury claims for Minster Law clients, contributing to the overall success of the department.

• The caseload primarily consists of RTA cases featuring complex technical issues and quantum.

• Case values will vary from £125k to multi-million pounds, allocated based on skills and experience.

• Provide mentoring support to colleagues in the Serious Injury team handling a portfolio of compensation claims.

• Act as an ambassador for the business, aiding in the department's strategy and growth.

• For your individual caseload and that of your client case team, deliver the following: Serve as a technical expert in your chosen specialization.

• Offer exceptional client care to those who have experienced traumatic and life-altering events, both for your cases and while overseeing the team.

• Ensure effective progression of all cases and assist the Team Manager in implementing new working practices and procedures.

• Maintain regular communication and hold face-to-face meetings with clients.

• Provide instructions and conduct meetings with a multi-disciplinary team of experts, including medical professionals, case managers, care experts, architects, forensic accountants, and counsel.

• Analyze evidence and research legal issues concerning liability, causation, and quantum.

• Draft key documents, including statements, pleadings, and schedules of loss.

• Secure early interim payments and facilitate appropriate rehabilitation.

• Optimize settlements for your clients.

• Raise awareness of the department and enhance your professional profile, with involvement in organizations such as APIL, Headway, and SIA.

• Report on cases and prepare articles, testimonials.

• Motivate your client case team by ensuring clear objectives and KPIs are met, addressing performance issues with the Team Manager, and supporting the development of colleagues as needed in line with company policy.

• Conduct monthly one-to-ones, regular technical and case reviews, and provide feedback and mentoring as necessary.

• Perform at a high level in a target-driven, high-quality environment.

• Undertake any additional tasks deemed relevant and reasonable by the business.


⛳️ Requirements

• A qualified Solicitor or Fellow of CILEX with at least 8 years of Post Qualification Experience or equivalent experience to charge and recover Grade A rates.

• A proven history of managing serious injury claims as the lead fee earner in a similar capacity, with experience as a litigator possessing strong technical skills and practical knowledge of court procedures.

• Interest in and experience in mentoring junior or developing colleagues, functioning as a team player and role model.

• Commitment to providing excellent client care for all clients.

• Strong professional profile and experience in enhancing the firm's reputation in the personal injury sector.

• Dedicated to developing the Serious Injury and Minster Law brand both internally and externally.

• Accountable for meeting objectives in a fast-paced setting while maintaining high standards of work quality and client care.

• Previous supervisory experience is desirable, including performance management, achieving objectives, and motivating/developing individuals.

• Exceptional communication skills, including negotiation and objection handling.

• Proficient in using a case management system, with a good understanding of Excel and Word.

• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

• Maintain a positive attitude, be self-motivated, and take initiative.

• Resilient, able to navigate changing circumstances and challenging situations while still achieving objectives.

• Experience in business development and a robust network of industry contacts.

• Existing connections with relevant organizations such as Headway, SIA, and APIL.
