This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Enhance both published and unpublished written and video content for SEO and AEO optimization.
• Assess headlines, metadata, keywords, entities, internal links, content organization, images, videos, and other on-page factors.
• Investigate how content is displayed, referenced, and summarized across search engines, AI Overviews, LLMs, and answer engines.
• Perform research on keywords, competitors, search trends, and AI visibility.
• Propose trending topics and SEO/AEO-focused content opportunities to editorial teams.
• Track traditional and AI search performance, suggesting necessary optimizations.
• Support management with content strategies, competitive assessments, data analysis, and tracking of SEO/AEO KPIs.
• Collaborate with editorial teams across various sectors to deliver actionable insights.
• Provide training and continuous newsroom support to editorial teams.
• Remain updated on developments in Google Search, Google News, Google Discover, AI Overviews, LLM citations, and the wider search and AI landscape.
• Experiment with emerging AEO strategies to enhance FOX content visibility and citations.
• Investigate AI and automation possibilities to refine SEO/AEO workflows while ensuring editorial judgment, accuracy, and human oversight.
• Formulate optimization strategies for written and video content as platforms begin displaying multimodal results.
• Assist management and colleagues with projects to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly objectives.
• Proven SEO experience at a company, publisher, or brand, with a keen interest in expanding into AEO and AI search.
• Comprehensive understanding of on-page SEO principles.
• Knowledge of content structure, entities, authority, relevance, and technical accessibility.
• Proficient in technical SEO concepts that influence crawling, indexing, and search visibility.
• Familiarity with AI Overviews, LLM citations, and answer engines.
• Awareness of search engine ranking factors, algorithms, and the various aspects of content, technical, and off-page SEO.
• Experience in developing and enhancing both breaking news and evergreen content.
• Skilled in conducting keyword research, competitive assessments, and search trend evaluations.
• Proficient in tracking and analyzing SEO KPIs and search performance metrics.
• Familiar with SEO, analytics, and competitive intelligence tools such as Google Trends, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Similarweb, Botify, BrightEdge, NewzDash, Trisolute News Dashboard, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, or similar platforms.
• Strong writing and editing capabilities in SEO.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Inquisitive about emerging AI technologies and their implications for search and content optimization.
• Willingness to experiment and learn as AEO best practices and metrics evolve.
• Broad awareness of politics, U.S. news, global news, business, entertainment, lifestyle, sports, and other significant news categories.
• Ability to keep up with the latest developments in SEO, AEO, and AI.
• Exceptional time management skills and capability to meet tight deadlines in a dynamic newsroom environment.
• Organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and adaptable.
• A bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
