SEO Specialist, Initial Audit & Strategy Phase

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Evaluate the current performance of the website and analyze competitor SEO strategies.

• Discover commercially valuable search opportunities and align them with the site’s architecture.

• Execute on-page SEO directly within Squarespace, including titles, meta descriptions, URLs, schema markup, internal linking, Google Search Console, GA4, and redirects.

• Develop and assist in crafting a content strategy focused on search optimization.

• Create a link and authority strategy leveraging editorial links and digital PR exclusively.

• Consider visibility in AI-enhanced search engines, including ChatGPT and Google AI search, in addition to traditional SEO practices.

• Enhance organic search visibility and attract qualified new business leads.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of SEO experience with a demonstrated track record of increasing organic visibility.

• Experience in B2B, professional services, agencies, or consultancy environments.

• Strong writing and editorial judgment, coupled with exceptional written English skills.

• Proficiency in Squarespace, Google Search Console, and GA4.

• Solid understanding of site architecture, internal linking, and content strategy.

• Familiarity with AI search and GEO is an advantage.

• Candidates must be based in South Africa.

• Provide three examples of websites you have improved organically, including results/data and specific tasks undertaken.

• A brief response to a strategic question must be included in the application.
