This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the creation and implementation of tailored LLM solutions for enterprise clients.

• Convert unclear business challenges into precisely defined ML problems with established success criteria and assessment methods.

• Construct custom models utilizing Cohere’s foundation model stack, CPT recipes, post-training pipelines including RLVR, and data resources.

• Innovate cutting-edge modeling techniques to improve model performance for client-specific use cases.

• Contribute to enhancements of the foundation-model stack, such as capabilities, tuning strategies, and evaluation frameworks.

• Collaborate with enterprise clients to pinpoint high-value opportunities for LLM applications.

• Offer technical guidance throughout discovery, scoping, modeling, deployment, agent workflows, and post-deployment refinement.

• Establish evaluation frameworks and success metrics for custom modeling projects.

• Mentor engineers across distributed teams.

• Foster clarity in uncertain situations, promote alignment, and elevate engineering and modeling quality throughout the organization.


⛳️ Requirements

• Strong foundation in machine learning and the ability to frame intricate, ambiguous challenges as ML solutions.

• Proficiency in Python and core ML/LLM frameworks.

• Experience with large-scale datasets and distributed training or inference pipelines.

• Knowledge of LLM architectures, tuning techniques including CPT and post-training, and evaluation methodologies.

• Proven capability to significantly influence LLM performance.

• Experience interacting directly with clients or stakeholders to design and implement ML-driven solutions.

• History of providing technical leadership at the team level.

• Comprehensive understanding of the ML research landscape and a passion for advancing the state of the art.

• Proactive approach, strong sense of ownership, and comfort with uncertainty.

• Humility and strong collaborative instincts.

• Deep belief that AI should effectively empower individuals and organizations.
