Senior/Lead Back End Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services utilizing Python and Java.

• Assist and facilitate the gradual transition from Python-based services to Java, ensuring stability and continuity throughout the process.

• Create and uphold RESTful APIs and backend integrations.

• Engage in system design and architectural conversations, particularly concerning service boundaries and migration strategies.

• Work with distributed systems and microservices architecture.

• Integrate third-party services and external APIs effectively.

• Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code in accordance with best practices.

• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and the sharing of knowledge.

• Troubleshoot production issues and enhance system reliability, observability, and performance.

• Collaborate efficiently with cross-functional teams across various time zones.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in backend software development.

• Extensive professional experience with Python (Django, FastAPI, Flask, or similar frameworks).

• Significant professional experience with Java, preferably using Spring Boot.

• Strong understanding of object-oriented design, SOLID principles, and design patterns.

• Experience in designing and consuming RESTful APIs.

• Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL); exposure to NoSQL databases is an advantage.

• Knowledge of unit testing, integration testing, and test-driven development (TDD).

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and contemporary development workflows.

• Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.

• Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS preferred).

• Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on performance and scalability.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
