
Senior/Lead AI Harness Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, create, implement, and maintain elements of the AI harness, which includes guides, feedback loops, guardrails, and shared context.
• Develop feedforward guides such as agent instruction files, reusable skills, architectural regulations, reference materials, and codemods.
• Create feedback sensors, including custom linters, static analysis tools, architecture fitness assessments, verification loops, and LLM-as-judge reviewers.
• Manage the steering loop to avoid repetitive errors by agents and preserve repository knowledge for agents.
• Participate in quality gating, establish release criteria, and conduct LLM testing to ensure the quality and safety of AI-generated outputs.
• Enhance visibility into agent activities and monitor engineering metrics.
• Assess the stability, compatibility, scalability, interoperability, and performance of harness components.
• Acquire new agent-augmented engineering techniques and offer technical guidance and mentorship.
• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science or related fields, or equivalent experience in software architecture, design, development, and testing.
• Strong background in software engineering.
• Experience with large codebases emphasizing architecture, testing, and maintainability.
• Proficient in creating tools involving linters, static analysis, CI pipelines, containerized build/test environments, and instrumentation/observability.
• Knowledge of agent instruction conventions such as AGENTS.md.
• Practical experience with AI coding agents like Claude Code, Codex, or similar technologies.
• Familiarity with specification-driven development, context engineering, agent orchestration, fitness functions, and developer-platform initiatives.
• Capability to translate quality standards into mechanical, repeatable guidelines.
• Understanding of deterministic computational controls versus inferential LLM-based controls, including their cost, speed, and reliability trade-offs.
• Ability to articulate designs with architects and engage in discussions about strategy and requirements with teams.
