This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Be an active team participant.
• Contribute to estimating all tickets in the backlog and engage in Backlog Grooming, Sprint Planning, and Sprint Review Meetings.
• Follow Agile Scrum methodologies and the organization's processes.
• Act as a candid, respectful, and supportive teammate and leader.
• Collaborate closely with others to create effective solutions.
• Influence technical direction in partnership with teammates, balancing client needs, maintainability, and long-term scalability.
• Advocate for Engineering Best Practices.
• Review and create unit, integration, and regression tests when applicable.
• Develop and maintain unit tests with PHPUnit, enforce static analysis using PHPStan, and create end-to-end tests with Playwright.
• Conduct architectural peer reviews for code produced by other engineers.
• Establish build and test environments as well as deploy code.
• Implement PHP and JavaScript linting.
• Set up CI/CD workflows utilizing Github Actions.
• Implement standard Docker local development environments.
• Monitor and enhance application performance using tools like Sentry for error tracking, New Relic for application logs and performance metrics, and Lighthouse and Core Web Vitals for frontend performance.
• Write secure, performant, scalable code.
• Develop custom WordPress plugins for enterprise-level use.
• Practice Object-Oriented Programming.
• Create custom React-based blocks.
• Leverage WordPress technologies such as WP-CLI and REST API.
• Construct custom, efficient SQL queries.
• Utilize package management tools like NPM and Composer.
• Develop responsive interfaces and extend interfaces using JavaScript.
• Debug across a diverse array of browsers and devices.
• Develop and maintain plugins and themes that adhere to WordPress VIP coding standards and deployment requirements.
• You have extensive experience with complex, large-scale web technology projects.
• You actively mentor and guide less experienced developers to adhere to best practices through code reviews.
• You have built intricate custom WordPress plugins and themes from the ground up.
• You possess extensive knowledge of PHP, WordPress, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• You have created custom Gutenberg blocks, Block Editor panels, and sidebar plugins to enhance the editing experience.
• You have utilized performance monitoring and error tracking tools to troubleshoot issues in production environments.
• You have experience developing for enterprise WordPress hosting platforms like WordPress VIP, including an understanding of their coding standards, deployment workflows, and code review practices.
