This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Champion user-centered content practices within both internal and client teams.
• Base content decisions on user research, accessibility best practices, and organizational objectives.
• Advise clients on the impact of content on navigation, usability, and conversion rates.
• Craft compelling copy that aligns with the content strategy and project objectives.
• Ensure all written content complies with accessibility standards and is optimized for SEO/AEO.
• Plan, develop, and present content audits alongside map and gap analyses.
• Create user journeys, personas, and user flows to enhance user experience.
• Perform keyword, SEO, and AEO research, offering actionable recommendations.
• Generate content maps to guide content organization.
• Establish copy guidelines, voice/tone frameworks, and UX copywriting standards.
• Produce comprehensive content governance documentation.
• Participate in client pitch meetings, representing the creative services team.
• Contribute to webinars, case studies, speaking engagements, blog articles, and video content.
• Represent Kanopi Studios at conferences and industry gatherings.
• Engage in discovery and research, strategy formulation, content development, and execution.
• Clearly communicate and justify recommendations to both internal and client teams.
• Collaborate with design and implementation teams to resolve complex content issues and develop content systems.
• Over 5 years of experience in content strategy and copywriting at a senior level, preferably in an agency or client services setting.
• Ability to develop effective content strategies informed by qualitative research and quantitative analysis.
• Proven experience in creating engaging copy that meets SEO/AEO requirements and adheres to established accessibility standards.
• Experience collaborating with remote and/or distributed teams.
• Skilled in planning and organizing content for large or complex websites.
• A portfolio showcasing website content strategy, content modeling, UX writing, information architecture (IA), and strong writing samples linked to project objectives.
• Proficiency in user research and testing tools such as Userbrain and Optimal Workshop.
• Expertise in heatmap and behavior analytics tools like Mouseflow.
• Competence with Google Analytics 4 and Google Search Console.
• Familiarity with SEO and auditing tools such as SEMRush and Screaming Frog.
• Proficient in Google Workspace and other documentation platforms.
• Excellent writing and editing abilities, with a strong grasp of grammar and attention to detail.
• Capability to simplify complex information into clear, accessible, and engaging content.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills in client-facing situations.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive content practices, including WCAG.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
• Residency in British Columbia, Alberta, Yukon, or the Northwest Territories is required.
• Availability for regular collaboration during Pacific Time business hours.
