This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Champion user-centric content practices within both internal and client teams.
• Base content decisions on user research, best practices in accessibility, and business objectives.
• Advise clients on the impact of content on navigation, usability, and conversion rates.
• Craft engaging, strategic, accessible website copy optimized for SEO and AEO.
• Plan, develop, and deliver content audits as well as map and gap analyses.
• Create user journeys, personas, and user flows.
• Perform keyword, SEO, and AEO research, providing actionable recommendations.
• Develop comprehensive content maps.
• Formulate copy guidelines, voice/tone frameworks, and UX copywriting standards.
• Produce documentation for content governance.
• Participate in client pitch meetings representing creative services.
• Contribute to webinars, case studies, speaking engagements, blog entries, and video content.
• Act as a representative for Kanopi Studios at conferences and industry events.
• Collaborate with design and implementation teams to enhance content systems and user experiences.
• Over 5 years of combined experience in content strategy and copywriting at a senior level.
• Ideally, experience in an agency or client service setting.
• Capability to develop content strategies grounded in qualitative research and quantitative analysis.
• Proven experience in creating copy that meets SEO/AEO requirements and accessibility standards.
• Familiarity with remote and/or distributed teams.
• Experience in planning and organizing content for large or complex websites.
• A portfolio showcasing website content strategy, content modeling, UX writing, information architecture, and copywriting samples aligned with project objectives.
• Proficient in user research and testing tools like Userbrain and Optimal Workshop.
• Skilled in heatmap and behavior analytics tools such as Mouseflow.
• Proficient in Google Analytics 4 and Google Search Console.
• Experienced with SEO and auditing platforms like SEMRush and Screaming Frog.
• Familiar with Google Workspace and documentation tools.
• Exceptional writing and editing abilities, with a strong grasp of grammar and attention to detail.
• Ability to distill complex information into clear, accessible, and engaging content.
• Strategic mindset that balances business goals with user needs.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills in client-facing situations.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive content practices, including WCAG.
• Capacity to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
• Must have legal authorization to work in Canada.
• Must reside in British Columbia, Alberta, Yukon, or the Northwest Territories.
• Availability for regular collaboration during Pacific Time business hours is required.
