This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
⢠Define and take ownership of KIPPās comprehensive growth and scaling strategy, which includes establishing multi-year objectives, portfolio priorities, and the necessary conditions for sustainable growth.
⢠Articulate the vision and standards for KIPP's network expansion, ensuring that every decision regarding scaling is backed by evidence, centered on equity, and aligned with the One KIPP strategy.
⢠Develop the methodology and criteria for identifying regions at risk of viability, and supervise assessments of those regions to determine what is needed for long-term sustainability and success.
⢠Act as the primary senior voice on growth matters to the Chief Schools Officer, Chief of Regional Impact, CEO, and Boardāoffering strategic advice, synthesizing landscape intelligence, and promoting organizational alignment around growth priorities.
⢠Facilitate and guide cross-functional planning within the Office of the Chief Schools Officer and Chief of Regional Impact, ensuring that growth considerations are embedded in organizational and financial planning cycles.
⢠Lead the Foundationās collaboration with regions seeking opportunistic growthādriving strategy, ensuring accountability, and managing a team of directors who offer thought partnership, analytical support, and project management to convert ambition into actionable plans.
⢠Create and oversee progress-monitoring systems that ensure growth plans remain on track; apply sound judgment regarding when course corrections are necessary, and escalate risks to the Chief of Regional Impact and C-suite.
⢠Identify cross-regional growth trends, scale effective practices throughout the portfolio, and address systemic gapsāensuring that successful strategies in one region provide learning opportunities for the entire network.
⢠Serve as the senior escalation point for regions on growth-related issues, exercising judgment to determine when matters require the attention of the Chief of Regional Impact, Chief Schools Officer, or CEO.
⢠Lead, mentor, and manage the Senior Director of Growth's performance to enhance regional growth partnerships, readiness assessments, and landscape analyses.
⢠Cultivate a culture of accountability, learning, and ongoing improvement.
⢠Represent the Growth function in executive decision-making forums, cross-functional planning, and Board-level growth updatesāacting as a credible and compelling senior presence.
⢠A minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in strategy, growth, network development, or related enterprise leadership roles, preferably in K-12 education or a similar mission-driven setting.
⢠A demonstrated history of managing and developing people managers across nested teams of four or more direct reports, with measurable impacts on their performance and the organizational outcomes they drive.
⢠Proven ability to establish vision, goals, and strategy for a function or multiple functions with executive-level autonomy, and to translate that vision into accountable execution through a team.
⢠Direct accountability for network-wide strategic priorities, showcasing outcomes that have influenced all regions or the entire network.
⢠A solid track record of designing and implementing readiness or assessment frameworks based on data, and translating both quantitative and qualitative inputs into clear recommendations that foster network-wide organizational accountability.
⢠Strong analytical and strategic skills, including landscape analysis, financial modeling, and the ability to distill complex information into concise strategic narratives for executive and Board audiences.
⢠Demonstrated executive presence and capability to make network-level decisions independently while serving as a credible senior thought partner to C-suite leaders and regional boards.
⢠Proven experience collaborating with regional or field-based leaders to translate national strategy into executable plans that are tailored to local contexts, while maintaining coherence across the network.
⢠Experience in K-12 education, charter school expansion, or a similar mission-driven environment is strongly preferred.
