This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Lead the design process from initial concept to hand-off to engineering, ensuring that solutions are user-friendly, intuitive, consistent, and scalable across various devices and user types.

• Engage in design iterations, rapid prototyping, design quality assurance, and cross-functional retrospectives.

• Transform unclear product requests into manageable, strategic design challenges.

• Independently plan, conduct, and report on user research, leveraging both qualitative insights and quantitative data to inform and validate design decisions.

• Take charge of specific design domains and projects (such as a key product area, design system, branding, or accessibility).

• Actively standardize and enhance our component-based design system in Figma.

• Maintain thorough documentation for design libraries, processes, and brand guidelines to ensure consistency and efficiency throughout the organization.

• Enhance the overall UX expertise of the team by actively reviewing work and providing constructive feedback.

• Work closely with Product Managers and Engineering leads to shape product strategy, influence the overall UX vision, and anticipate potential delivery risks.

• Collaborate directly with engineers to ensure your designs are accurately implemented.

• Navigate and resolve cross-team UX trade-offs and conflicts, adjusting your approach and decision-making based on different phases of product and UX design.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in designing digital products or SaaS applications, including at least 2 years in a senior designer role.

• Proficient interaction design skills with a comprehensive understanding of UX best practices.

• Expertise in Figma and component-driven design systems.

• A portfolio showcasing your ability to navigate ambiguity, tackle complex UX challenges, and link design decisions directly to user outcomes and business impact.

• Capability to independently plan, execute, and synthesize user research, utilizing both qualitative insights and quantitative data.

• Comfortable managing multiple workloads autonomously, tracking outcomes, and maintaining productivity in a remote, asynchronous team environment.

• Familiarity with testing and employing AI tools to enhance the design process.

• Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in EdTech, educational platforms, or creator tools.

• Background in formally or informally mentoring other designers.

• Experience in defining and optimizing cross-team processes or workflows that involve design, product, and engineering.

• Understanding of UX measurement strategies and the long-term effects of design changes on user behavior.
