Principal Product Designer – Container Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of the design process for the container platform.

• Simplify intricate developer workflows into refined, well-defined solutions.

• Collaborate and iterate with a diverse team of designers, product managers, and engineers.

• Actively leverage AI tools throughout the design process for prototyping, synthesis, and refinement.

• Engage with stakeholders to establish consensus on a unified product vision.

• Thoughtfully challenge current methodologies and advocate for superior solutions.

• Mentor and guide members of the product design team.

• Collaborate with senior leadership to formulate design strategy.

⛳️ Requirements

• Established history of influencing product direction and strategy through actionable, research-driven design.

• Extensive experience in designing for developer tools, platforms, or infrastructure products.

• Strong grasp of qualitative and quantitative research methods, with the capability to synthesize and communicate insights swiftly.

• Proficient in prototyping, rapid visualizations, and iterative development.

• Proven ability to learn new technology domains and form strong opinions about them.

• Exceptional project management, communication, and presentation skills.

• Experience in leading, coaching, or mentoring product designers; this role is expected to elevate the overall capability of the team, integrating efforts rather than working in isolation to define design practices at Docker.

• Familiarity with container technologies, DevOps tools, or infrastructure products.
