Senior UX/UI Design Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain the UX/UI development roadmap, aligning with the game’s vision by comprehending its product and player needs in collaboration with the Game Director.

• Actively advocate for UX/UI during discussions, feature prioritization, and goal setting, ensuring that the UX/UI and player experiences effectively enhance various game elements such as core gameplay mechanics, social features, monetization strategies, live events, and player progression systems.

• Work alongside the Art Director to define the visual aesthetics and experience of the user interface, conveying direction, feedback, and insights to the UX/UI team.

• Create detailed wireframe specifications, user flow diagrams, information architecture, interactive prototypes, and more to align the UX/UI vision with cross-functional team members.

• Design from foundational principles by thoroughly understanding the game genre, analyzing competitive benchmarks, engaging in playtesting sessions, and collaborating with User Research to identify player needs and motivations while addressing usability challenges.

• Establish and uphold comprehensive UX standards and best practices across the studio in partnership with the UX/UI department, guided by UX/UI pillars, design systems, workflows, and component libraries to improve development efficiency, consistency, and quality.

• Foster and maintain a strong UX/UI team through effective management, staffing plans, hiring processes, and external development management, promoting a collaborative “we” culture.


⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in leading or directly supporting leadership roles within an ongoing live service game.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in crafting Slack messages, presentations, wireframes, flows, prototypes, and design documentation.

• Strong capability to articulate UX/UI design decisions and collaborate effectively with cross-disciplinary teams (Game Design, Art, Engineering, Testing, etc.).

• Skilled in providing constructive feedback, receiving feedback, and determining subsequent steps.

• Proficient in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or other similar software.

• Advanced ability to create functional prototypes along with corresponding technical documentation.

• Robust experience in management, strategy formulation, planning, and team building.

• In-depth understanding of design principles and user-centered design methodologies.

• Strong grasp of game development pipelines and technical limitations.

• Experience in connecting technical specifications with player experiences.

• Familiarity with multiplayer genres across various platforms (PC, console).
