• Assist with employer-owned life insurance programs aimed at executive and employee benefit funding solutions.
• Underwrite Guaranteed Issue (GI) and Simplified Issue (SI) COLI cases in line with carrier guidelines and program specifications.
• Evaluate lives within executive and broad-based COLI/BOLI/ICOLI programs.
• Establish suitable ratings, underwriting actions, and capacity decisions.
• Examine compensation data, employee classifications, and benefit frameworks.
• Evaluate financial justification in accordance with employer-owned life insurance standards.
• Confirm that policy face amounts correspond with program intentions and eligibility criteria.
• Underwrite in compliance with IRC §101(j) notice and consent regulations.
• Ensure conformity with carrier COLI governance standards and underwriting protocols.
• Assist internal review committees and large case decision-making processes.
• Conduct medical underwriting as necessary.
• Utilize comprehensive knowledge of Qualified Purchaser and Accredited Investor definitions to support program eligibility, structure, and regulatory compliance.
• Foster and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience.
• 5-7+ years of experience in Underwriting Individual Life Insurance.
• Proven excellence in: Problem Solving / Analysis; Understanding Complex Information; Influencing Others; Risk Assessment; Making decisions based on sound judgment; Negotiation Skills; Managing Conflict.
• Proficient in analyzing and interpreting intricate financial documents, including profit/loss statements, income statements, and balance sheets.
• Exceptional Written and Verbal Communication skills.
• Intermediate proficiency in: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• A proven history of working independently, being a self-starter, and collaborating effectively in a team setting.
