This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Accountable for the effective risk selection of cases under review.
• This role necessitates regular collaboration with Underwriting, New Business, and distribution teams.
• Has approval authority ranging from $5,000,000 to $7,500,000 across all tables and age groups.
• Capable of evaluating cases up to $10,000,000.
• Demonstrates proven proficiency in all tasks and expectations of Underwriter, Intermediate Underwriter, Senior Underwriter, Underwriting Consultant, and Senior Underwriting Consultant roles.
• Provides mentorship and consultative services to junior team members.
• Possesses a comprehensive understanding of how business dynamics, market conditions, and the surrounding environment affect the team.
• Recognized as a change agent by fellow Underwriters within the department.
• Competent presenter to both agent and Underwriting groups.
• Shows the ability to speak up and challenge others professionally.
• Constantly seeks opportunities to enhance processes.
• Embraces Lean principles and employs Lean methodologies.
• A bachelor’s degree or a comparable combination of education and experience.
• At least 8 years of experience in life or health underwriting.
• Proven proficiency in AWD or similar systems, MS Office, risk assessment, strong platform competencies, and solid financial analytical skills.
• Capable of multitasking and prioritizing effectively.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, tailored for diverse internal and external audiences.
• Ability to meet high productivity standards for oneself and team members.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and potentially in a remote setting with a virtual team environment.
