Senior Trial Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.

📋 Description

• Act on behalf of insured individuals and Allstate in the defense of bodily injury and property damage lawsuits, subrogation claims, and uninsured/underinsured motorist cases.

• Prepare for and conduct hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.

• Draft and present pre- and post-trial motions.

• Assist colleagues in managing calendar conflicts.

• Provide legal counsel to business clients on everyday legal matters.

• Oversee projects and facilitate collaboration among legal teams.

• Monitor and assess new laws, regulations, and case law developments.

• Identify and summarize pertinent legal issues.

• Work in conjunction with the Law and Regulation department.

• Advise business units regarding the implications of new laws.

• Supervise legal representation.

• Independently handle an active caseload while adhering to deadlines.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctorate degree.

• Active membership in good standing with the Connecticut State Bar.

• Over 4 years of demonstrated litigation experience or strong litigation-related skills.

• Skills in case strategy development, legal research, and advocacy.

• Ability to manage complex disputes effectively under pressure.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet research.

• Preferred proficiency in LexisNexis.

• Strong collaboration and teamwork abilities.

• Capacity to independently manage an active caseload and meet deadlines.

• Comfort in a remote/hybrid work setting.

• Willingness to travel throughout Connecticut, including legal venues in Hartford and New Haven as required.

• Successful completion of a background investigation.

• A dedicated home workspace that is free from distractions.

• Reliable internet connection with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload.
