Senior Transmission Line Engineer – Grid

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design transmission lines ranging from 69kV to 500kV.

• Oversee cost analyses, create design criteria, and manage the routing and siting of transmission lines.

• Conduct studies for conductor selection, shielding, grounding, and induction.

• Collaborate with vendors and clients to specify components for transmission lines.

• Lead a small project team.

• Mentor less experienced staff while working alongside seasoned engineers.

• Engage with a diverse client base and coordinate with other project teams.

• Travel occasionally for site visits and client meetings.

• Prepare proposals and cost estimates for new projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program is required for this position.

• Proficient in PLS-CADD software to review transmission line models effectively.

• A minimum of 7 years of experience as a project team member, adhering to project schedules and budget constraints on various transmission assignments, including transmission line design with code compliance, cost estimation, schedule management, specification preparation for procurement of materials, and coordination with construction and installation teams.

• Skills to verify and review right-of-way requirements, conductor sags/tensions, and transmission line plan and profile drawings along with construction documents.

• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles for producing technical plans, drawings, and models.

• Experience in drafting and providing support documentation for engineering calculations.

• Familiarity with design codes and standards such as NESC, IEC, CSA, IEEE, ANSI, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI 318.

• Proficient in MS Office applications.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
