Senior Transmission Line Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and route transmission lines using the Power Line Systems software suite, which includes PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and TOWER.

• Conduct quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) on PLS-CADD models and job packages prior to external submissions.

• Perform structural analysis and foundation design, create job packages, develop design criteria and specifications, procure materials, estimate project costs, and conduct quality control reviews.

• Provide construction support and engage directly with construction teams.

• Prepare drawings and documentation necessary for the construction of transmission line projects.

• Offer leadership, guidance, instruction, and training to junior staff members.

• Regularly communicate and coordinate with clients and other external stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in overhead transmission engineering.

• Demonstrated technical proficiency in QA/QC for a diverse range of T-Line project submissions prior to client delivery.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.

• Experience in Civil/Structural Transmission Line disciplines, such as Steel Pole Design and Foundation Design.

• Familiarity with Tower Design using PLS-TOWER is advantageous, though not mandatory.

• Required experience in designing lines ranging from 12kV to 500kV and expertise in the Power Line Systems software suite (i.e., PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, TOWER, etc.).

• Professional Engineer (PE) certification is preferred, or the ability to obtain certification within 12 months of the start date.
