This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Oversee and facilitate adherence to Mexican customs regulations, foreign trade laws, and internal trade compliance policies.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with the IMMEX program, which includes managing temporary imports, reconciling inventory, fulfilling annex requirements, meeting reporting obligations, and preparing for audits.
• Guarantee the precision of import and export documentation in line with Mexican regulatory standards.
• Evaluate customs declarations, tariff classifications, country of origin information, and valuation data for correctness and compliance.
• Collaborate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders to address customs and trade-related challenges.
• Aid in compliance with additional relevant Mexican trade programs and certifications as necessary.
• Keep records and documentation essential for customs audits, internal assessments, and regulatory inspections.
• Support the preparation, review, and submission of trade compliance reports.
• Recognize compliance risks and suggest corrective actions and process enhancements.
• Assist in internal audits and compliance evaluations concerning import/export activities.
• Offer guidance and training to internal teams on trade compliance standards and best practices.
• Monitor regulatory updates in Mexico regarding customs, foreign trade, and IMMEX, and assist in implementing required changes.
• Collaborate with finance, supply chain, and operations teams to ensure synchronization between the physical movement of goods and compliance documentation.
• Ensure all Mexican sites adhere to Supply Chain Security Programs, including CTPAT and OEA, by maintaining program obligations, facilitating audits and validations, and driving corrective measures to resolve identified gaps.
• Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Business Administration, Law, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in trade compliance, customs compliance, import/export operations, or a similar field.
• Proficient understanding of Mexican customs regulations and foreign trade requirements.
• Experience with IMMEX compliance and administration, including knowledge of Annex 24 and Annex 31 compliance mandates.
• Acquainted with tariff classification, customs valuation, rules of origin, and import/export documentation.
• Experience collaborating with customs brokers and government entities.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and trade compliance software.
• Background in supporting customs audits or government evaluations.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Spanish and English.
