Senior Threat Researcher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Deliver timely and actionable intelligence to meet customer intelligence needs.

• Utilize global datasets, including netflow, malware, passive DNS, and geospatial intelligence, to monitor malicious cyber actors, their infrastructure, and campaigns.

• Collaborate and share insights with a worldwide team of threat intelligence analysts.

• Analyze and enhance coverage for emerging threats.

• Create and present strategic threat assessments aligned with customer requirements and intelligence gaps.

• Engage with product engineering teams to enhance detection effectiveness across Palo Alto Networks’ offerings.

• Investigate the tactics, techniques, and procedures of threat actors to generate unique and predictive intelligence.

• Distill complex technical findings into clear and concise reports suitable for both technical and executive audiences.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in large-scale data analysis platforms, such as BigQuery.

• Knowledgeable in static and dynamic malware analysis using industry-standard tools like IDA Pro, Ghidra, and x64dbg.

• Thorough understanding of the MITRE ATT&CK Matrix and its application in monitoring threat actor behaviors.

• Experience in a security operations center (SOC), fusion center, or incident management team.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

• Proven experience in delivering presentations to both technical and executive audiences.
