This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Design and review concepts for lunar landers, rovers, surface power systems, and spacecraft.
• Assist in the creation of technical content for mission opportunities and internal development initiatives.
• Conduct and execute trade studies for informed technical, business, and programmatic decisions.
• Carry out thermal design and analysis for mission concepts, optimizing thermal architectures.
• Discover and develop next-generation thermal management systems for lunar spacecraft.
• Identify and address system-level impacts resulting from thermal design requirements.
• Contribute to timelines, resource allocation, and budget forecasts.
• Collaborate with engineering disciplines, partners, customers, and vendors to mitigate technical risks and challenges.
• Occasionally engage in visits and technical interchange meetings with customers and partners.
• Transform customer requirements into product objectives and system architectures for clients, proposals, and stakeholders.
• Take part in cross-functional meetings to ensure alignment of engineering solutions with mission objectives, business needs, and the technology roadmap.
• Support the overarching technical vision for new products across both hardware and software domains.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field, with 5–10 years of pertinent engineering experience.
• An advanced degree may be accepted in place of equivalent experience.
• Experience in space system development, systems engineering, structure/thermal design and analysis, mechanical and fluid systems, and/or manufacturing.
• Proven experience in developing technical content for proposals and presentations to external clients.
• Skilled in authoring and deconstructing mission and system-level requirements.
• Strong grasp of launch, space, and lunar environments.
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment with evolving needs and requirements.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers of various expertise and backgrounds.
• Quick adaptability, creative thinking, and readiness to make critical technical decisions.
• Willingness to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance is preferred.
• Must qualify as a U.S. Person under ITAR/EAR regulations: a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or an individual protected under the law.
• Must be eligible to secure necessary export authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or Department of Commerce.
