Senior Technology R&D Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Explore and assess emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies that align with enterprise innovation objectives.

• Develop, test, troubleshoot, and sustain technical solutions, prototypes, and proof-of-concept projects within R&D initiatives.

• Analyze business challenges and translate business requirements into actionable innovation tasks.

• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, analysts, technology teams, compliance, risk, product, and platform teams.

• Design technical experiments and evaluate AI platforms, cutting-edge models, data tools, vendors, and options within the Microsoft ecosystem.

• Conduct data integration, modeling, and pattern identification using enterprise data.

• Gather, assess, and document experimental results against established success criteria.

• Assess solution viability and readiness for further advancement, pilot testing, or retirement.

• Develop scalable, maintainable, and operationally supportable code and technical artifacts.

• Participate in and contribute to code reviews, design discussions, and retrospectives.

• Integrate prototypes into pilot environments and prepare them for transition to pilot testing, outcome evaluation, and production handoff.

• Produce technical documentation, architecture decisions, findings, outcomes, compliance requirements, and reusable knowledge assets.

• Summarize research findings into clear and concise recommendations.

• Coordinate asynchronous contributors and suggest R&D priorities and backlog focus.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in software engineering, prototyping, or technical development.

• Practical experience with modern development tools, programming languages, and cloud platforms, including React, Next.js, Python, Node.js, C#/.NET, REST APIs, and relational databases.

• Proven full-stack capability with expertise in at least one frontend, backend, API, database, or integration domain.

• Proficient with Git, CI/CD principles, and collaborative development workflows.

• Willingness and ability to utilize AI-assisted development tools for code generation, pair programming, testing, and debugging.

• Understanding of data modeling, SQL, structured and unstructured data, and foundational data pipeline concepts.

• Working knowledge of or readiness to learn Azure, Azure AI, Microsoft Fabric, and related Microsoft tools.

• Familiarity with AWS or GCP is advantageous.

• Preferred hands-on experience with AI, automation, or emerging technologies.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Quick learner with the ability to navigate ambiguous and exploratory environments.

• Curiosity, initiative, self-direction, and a problem-first mindset.

• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

• Understanding of data privacy, model governance, AI ethics, compliance, and constraints in regulated industries.

• Experience in or developing technology for regulated sectors such as insurance, financial services, or healthcare is preferred.

• Preferred experience with graph databases, knowledge graphs, network analysis, applied analytics, open-source contributions, technical writing, or innovation teams.
