Senior Technical Writer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with subject matter experts, including Software Developers, Product Managers, Support, and Sales, to define technical specifications and use cases that outline the content to be developed for publication.

• Investigate, collect, and evaluate data from various sources, such as subject matter experts and product managers, to create content.

• Formulate information development and publishing strategies that align with departmental standards while also meeting project-specific needs through consultations with the Technical Publications leadership team and the cross-functional product team.

• Produce high-quality product information using clear and straightforward English by structuring ideas and converting complex technical jargon into information comprehensible to all readers, including both native and non-native English speakers.

• Clarify terminology and collaborate with software developers to ensure consistency across the product and its documentation.

• Engage in product design reviews.

• Evaluate product designs and UI, making necessary revisions to UI messages.

• Oversee and manage multiple projects concurrently, working both independently and in collaboration with other writers.

• Complete writing tasks in accordance with established standards concerning order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.

• Actively seek feedback from internal and external readers.

• Assess and prioritize technical feedback from diverse audiences, implementing necessary changes in documentation or products.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or any engineering discipline.

• Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, especially in conveying technical information clearly.

• Strong technical aptitude and the ability to learn products through hands-on experience.

• Outstanding writing skills with over 15 years of experience in software documentation, online publishing, online help development, API documentation, installation and user guides, and release notes.

• Proven expertise in technical writing and editing.

• Excellent command of the English language, including grammar and usage rules.

• Experience with API tools, such as Swagger.

• Proficiency in DITA, XML, and Adobe Acrobat is essential.

• Proficiency in SDL Tridion Docs or another Component Content Management System (CCMS) is essential.

• Strong understanding of topic-based authoring and reusable information architecture is essential.

• Familiarity with agile software development processes and tools, such as JIRA and Confluence, is essential.

• Experience in video creation is an advantage.
