Senior Technical Project Manager – VPC

📋 Description

• Lead intricate initiatives that encompass VPC, neighboring cloud services, and various infrastructure layers.

• Introduce VPC in new regions, support advancements in hardware generations, enhance platform scalability and resilience, refine service architecture, and provide new networking capabilities for customers.

• Collaborate closely with developers, engineering managers, technical leads, and product managers from VPC and adjacent teams.

• Transform broad product and technical goals into actionable programs, outline desired outcomes and acceptance criteria, identify dependencies and trade-offs, facilitate prompt decision-making, and oversee delivery through validation, rollout, and operational preparedness.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in technical program management, technical project management, engineering management, or a senior technical position that involves delivering complex cross-team initiatives.

• A robust technical background: you should be capable of engaging meaningfully in discussions surrounding cloud networking and distributed systems, comprehend system boundaries and failure modes, and question assumptions without needing to be the lead architect.

• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals such as IPv4 and IPv6 addressing, routing, network isolation, NAT, firewalls, and load balancing. You should feel at ease learning and reasoning about the architecture of a production cloud networking platform.

• Proficient in communicating complex technical subjects clearly, facilitating decisions, and creating concise, actionable documentation.

• Demonstrated experience in coordinating initiatives that involve multiple engineering teams with varying priorities and dependencies.

• Capable of structuring ambiguous issues, identifying critical paths, managing risks, and adjusting plans as requirements evolve.

• A practical, outcome-driven mindset with the ability to propel progress without relying on formal authority.
