
Senior Technical Project Manager β Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +2 more states.
β’ Oversee multiple medium to large-scale remote IT infrastructure projects simultaneously, including network rollouts, SD-WAN, routers, switches, Wi-Fi, equipment refreshes, and remote-site deployment efforts.
β’ Develop and manage project plans, timelines, budgets, milestones, resource allocations, risk logs, issue trackers, and implementation schedules.
β’ Propel projects from initiation to closeout, ensuring timely, budget-compliant delivery that meets scope and quality standards.
β’ Coordinate activities across IT, infrastructure, regional teams, business partners, and external vendors.
β’ Monitor project expenditures, assess costs, evaluate budget performance, and communicate budget statuses, risks, and discrepancies.
β’ Solicit and assess vendor quotes and support recommendations for costs and benefits.
β’ Organize vendor installation timelines, site readiness, deliverables, issue resolution, and project finalization.
β’ Identify risks, dependencies, resource limitations, and obstacles; create mitigation strategies and escalation recommendations.
β’ Lead project meetings, status briefings, working sessions, vendor coordination calls, and issue resolution discussions.
β’ Produce and sustain project documentation, support governance processes, and suggest enhancements to delivery processes.
β’ Travel to regional Staples facilities up to 20-25% of the time.
β’ Engage in a rotational 24x7 on-call schedule every 10 weeks.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
β’ Over 7 years of experience managing technical, IT infrastructure, network, or related technology projects.
β’ Proven experience in managing project plans, timelines, budgets, risks, issues, milestones, resources, and stakeholder communications.
β’ Experience coordinating IT infrastructure or network projects that involve SD-WAN, routers, switches, Wi-Fi, equipment refreshes, cabling, low-voltage, or remote-site implementations.
β’ Familiarity with working alongside external vendors, securing quotes, coordinating installations, tracking deliverables, and resolving implementation challenges.
β’ Capability to manage multiple concurrent projects with cross-functional teams and competing priorities.
β’ Proficient in project management tools, documentation standards, status reporting, and project governance processes.
β’ Strong leadership, communication, organizational, problem-solving, collaboration, adaptability, and accountability skills.
β’ Must reside within or close to the Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Eastern/Southern New York region, or be open to relocation.
β’ PMP certification or another project management credential is preferred.
β’ Experience with geographically distributed teams, complex technology projects, and corporate IT, retail, distribution, or multi-site technology settings is preferred.
