This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee multiple medium to large-scale remote IT infrastructure projects simultaneously, encompassing network implementations, SD-WAN, routers, switches, Wi-Fi, equipment refreshes, and remote-site deployment efforts.
• Develop and oversee project plans, schedules, budgets, key milestones, resource allocations, risk management logs, issue tracking, and implementation timelines.
• Guide projects from initiation to closure, ensuring that deliverables are timely, adhere to budget constraints, remain within scope, and maintain high quality.
• Coordinate efforts across IT, infrastructure, regional teams, business partners, and external vendors.
• Monitor project expenditures, assess costs, track budget performance, and communicate updates regarding budget status, risks, and variances.
• Solicit and assess vendor quotes while supporting cost-benefit analyses.
• Manage vendor installation schedules, ensure site readiness, track deliverables, resolve issues, and oversee project completion.
• Identify risks, dependencies, resource limitations, and obstacles; formulate mitigation strategies and escalation suggestions.
• Facilitate project meetings, provide status updates, conduct working sessions, vendor calls, and discussions for issue resolution.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, support governance processes, and propose enhancements to workflows and delivery practices.
• Travel to various regional Staples facilities up to 20–25% of the time.
• Participate in a rotational 24x7 on-call schedule every ten weeks.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience managing technical, IT infrastructure, network, or similar technology projects.
• Proven experience in managing project plans, schedules, budgets, risks, issues, milestones, resources, and stakeholder communications.
• Background in coordinating IT infrastructure or network projects, including SD-WAN, routers, switches, Wi-Fi, equipment upgrades, cabling, low-voltage, or remote-site implementations.
• Proficient in collaborating with external vendors, obtaining quotes, coordinating installations, tracking deliverables, and resolving implementation challenges.
• Experience in managing multiple concurrent projects involving cross-functional teams and competing priorities.
• Familiarity with project management tools, documentation practices, status reporting, and project governance processes.
• PMP certification or an equivalent project management certification.
• Experience overseeing infrastructure projects across multiple remote locations or geographically distributed teams.
• Experience in leading medium to large, complex technology initiatives.
• Background in a corporate IT, retail, distribution, or multi-site technology setting.
• Strong skills in project leadership, communication, organization, collaboration, problem-solving, adaptability, and accountability.
• Must reside in the area east of Los Angeles, California; consideration will be given to candidates willing to relocate.
