This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Oversee the intake and scoping process for new VPP programs, guiding them from initial concept through to operational design and implementation planning.

β€’ Actively communicate program risks to leadership by translating technical and operational obstacles into clear risk narratives, along with suggested mitigations and decision requests.

β€’ Establish success metrics, tracking frameworks, and performance baselines prior to launch, ensuring that every program is equipped from day one.

β€’ Collaborate with commercial and technical teams to convert financial assumptions into operational requirements.

β€’ Record program architecture β€” including SOPs, runbooks, and process flows β€” in shared knowledge systems, enabling client-facing and technical teams to operate autonomously.

β€’ Propel implementation and delivery readiness across commercial and technical teams by managing the critical path, monitoring dependencies, and identifying risks early.

β€’ Create and sustain scalable processes for standard program implementations while managing bespoke scoping for non-standard or unique programs, developing a framework that transforms edge cases into repeatable playbooks.

β€’ Oversee programs throughout all stages, from intake and scoping to testing, go-live, and steady-state handoff.

β€’ Act as the primary internal contact for commercial teams during program development and launch, coordinating with Client Success, who manages external client relationships.

β€’ Facilitate formal launch reviews and ensure completion of all cross-functional sign-offs before a program goes live; consolidate inputs into executive-ready summaries for leadership go/no-go decisions.

β€’ Evaluate and escalate program risks based on development activities across teams.

β€’ Establish clear handoff criteria from launch to steady state, ensuring downstream teams have all necessary resources to manage and track programs independently. Assist with program management activities as necessary to support the transition to steady state.

β€’ Define, scope, and document dashboards, timelines, and performance tracking mechanisms for downstream analysts, prioritizing efficiency, visibility, and consistent execution quality.

β€’ Define and conduct post-launch health checks, including structured feedback mechanisms from partners and internal teams, to foster continuous improvement of the implementation model.

β€’ Own and maintain business SOPs, runbooks, and process documentation for each program launched, ensuring they meet audit-ready standards.

β€’ Train client-facing and commercial teams on new program processes and incorporate their feedback into finalized documentation.

β€’ Contribute to the intake process for new programs by triaging non-standard requests and directing them to the appropriate teams.

⛳️ Requirements

β€’ 4–8+ years of experience managing complex, cross-functional initiatives from concept to launch in energy, utilities, or B2B2C environments, with a proven record of establishing processes and operational frameworks in previously unstructured settings.

β€’ Strong program management and operational instincts; capable of creating structure in ambiguous situations, launching programs without predefined playbooks, and proactively identifying risks, trends, and operational needs using a combination of data and business insights.

β€’ Familiarity with virtual power plants (VPPs), demand response, distributed energy resources (DERs), and/or related energy initiatives, including knowledge of dispatch mechanics, enrollment design, operational scalability, and program instrumentation.

β€’ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective coordination across Client Success, Product, Engineering, Technical Operations, commercial teams, utility partners, and leadership while distilling complex discussions into clear, executive-ready narratives.

β€’ Strong systems thinking and operational design perspective; experienced in defining success metrics, launch readiness criteria, reporting frameworks, and handoff processes that allow downstream teams to function independently at scale.

β€’ Demonstrated discipline in documentation, including the creation and maintenance of SOPs, runbooks, process flows, launch frameworks, stage-gate processes, and audit-ready operational documentation that remains functional beyond your direct involvement.

β€’ An empathetic, client-focused operator who can balance operational rigor with relationship management, effectively navigating both detailed program execution and high-stakes partner conversations.

β€’ Technical fluency and comfort in collaborating closely with Product and Engineering teams without compromising substance; able to grasp technical systems, operational dependencies, and data flows sufficiently to coordinate confidently across functions.

β€’ Hands-on experience with project management and operational tools such as Notion, Jira, or similar platforms; you build and sustain systems and workflows that teams rely on, rather than merely using them.

β€’ Bonuses: Experience with battery storage, EV, or smart thermostat programs; experience working with utility DERMS or OEM partners; background in client success or customer implementations; familiarity with data analytics or CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).

🏝️ Benefits

β€’ A full-time position with a competitive salary based on experience, ranging from $160k to $205k. This role is also eligible for a target annual bonus of 15% of base salary and participation in long-term incentive programs linked to company growth and performance. Compensation is determined using market data and takes into account your job family, background, skills, experience, and U.S. work location.

β€’ A fully remote work environment with an allowance for home office setup.

β€’ A genuine commitment to work-life balance, with company perks including no pre-set vacation limits (encouraging meaningful PTO usage each year), parental leave benefits, and a corporate culture that prioritizes sustainability and family well-being.

β€’ A comprehensive benefits package that encompasses various health and wellness offerings.

β€’ A 401(k) plan with employer contributions.

β€’ The chance to collaborate with passionate individuals who share a commitment to their mission, thriving in a fully remote setting while continuously learning and growing.
