This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• ARES assists public-sector clients and regulated organizations in their cloud transformation journeys, along with the development of private clouds and internal developer platforms.
• You will assume product ownership in client projects, leveraging a comprehensive understanding of contemporary cloud and platform architectures.
• Collaborating with clients and engineers, you will establish a clear target vision and create a usable, operable product from initially vague requirements.
• Develop the product vision, target architecture, and roadmap for cloud and developer platforms.
• Organize and prioritize requirements, translating them into actionable implementation steps.
• Define deliverables, acceptance criteria, and conditions for sign-off.
• Ensure that the platform delivers tangible value to its users.
• Prepare architectural decisions in collaboration with clients, engineers, and specialists.
• Generate and align initial drafts for architecture, operations, and security concepts.
• Conduct workshops, refinements, and technical-functional discussions.
• As needed, support the development of technical concepts for proposals and tender submissions.
• A completed degree or vocational training in an IT-related field.
• Experience as a Technical Product Owner, Product Manager, Enterprise/Solution Architect, Engagement Manager, or in a similar role.
• Knowledge of cloud transformations, private cloud or internal developer platforms, and a solid understanding of various architectural components (e.g., compute, networking, storage, IAM, security).
• Ability to quickly understand and structure complex subjects.
• Self-motivated with exceptional communication, facilitation, and conceptualization skills.
• Proficient in both German and English.
• Willingness to travel within Germany (averaging up to 3 days/month).
• Willingness to undergo a security clearance (SÜ1 or SÜ2) in accordance with SÜG.
• Technically, you should be able to classify several of the following topics: Private/Hybrid/Sovereign Cloud, Kubernetes/OpenShift/Rancher, Platform Engineering and Internal Developer Platforms, CI/CD, GitOps and Infrastructure as Code, IAM, security and observability, DevOps, SRE and modern operating models.
