• As a Senior Technical Artist at Fortis Games, you will play a vital role in connecting art and technology by creating efficient tools, optimizing asset pipelines, and facilitating seamless collaboration between art and engineering.
• You will be key in developing and sustaining rigging systems, shader workflows, and automation tools, enabling the art team to produce high-quality visuals while maintaining performance standards.
• This position provides the opportunity to work on various projects, engaging with designers, engineers, and fellow artists to ensure technical excellence and consistency across all game assets.
• Create and uphold tools and pipelines for effective asset creation and integration.
• Recognize and communicate technical limitations along with potential solutions for art assets and game systems.
• Accountable for developing and executing rigging systems that support character and creature animation.
• Collaborate with other departments, including engineering and design, to guarantee consistency and quality across the game.
• Lead the development and upkeep of advanced shader systems for the game, optimizing them for performance on target platforms while preserving high visual fidelity.
• Advanced knowledge of the Unity game engine and scripting capabilities.
• Strong expertise in modeling software such as 3DSMAX, Maya, Blender, Zbrush, along with texture and material authoring tools like Photoshop and Substance.
• Extensive experience in rigging and animating characters and objects across various styles and workflows.
• Ability to troubleshoot and enhance rigs and animations for optimal performance and quality.
• Basic understanding of shader creation using node graphs, HLSL, or GLSL.
• Fundamental proficiency in Python, C#, or C++.
• Expertise in creating and optimizing real-time game assets, including characters, environments, and particle effects.
• Strong grasp of game mechanics and the capability to implement complex game systems.
• Ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technical artists.
• Strong aptitude for debugging intricate technical issues and devising creative solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Capacity to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently.
