This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +1 more state.
• Provide expertise in federal taxation concerning compliance and planning technical issues.
• Assist in formulating the vision, strategies, and action plans for expanding Cherry Bekaert’s tax practice.
• Aid in ensuring the tax practice's profitability.
• Develop technical resources and thought leadership for the National Tax Office.
• Offer tax consulting and advisory services to clients and professionals.
• Oversee internal resources to fulfill client project requirements.
• Collaborate with leaders across various disciplines.
• Promote the adoption of best practices for resolving federal tax inquiries and advising on courses of action.
• Support the development of the firm's technical positions and facilitate internal growth.
• Work with NTO specialists to guarantee the technical accuracy of tax consulting and advisory services.
• Conduct research and draft technical tax memoranda.
• Create thought leadership and external marketing content.
• Analyze emerging laws, regulations, and sub-regulatory guidance.
• Design and deliver internal training for staff on tax-related issues.
• Assist in organizing internal and external webinars and presentations.
• Contribute to firm-wide quality control efforts.
• Collaborate with the Strategic Tax Advisory team's mergers and acquisitions professionals.
• CPA and/or JD required.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience dealing with federal tax issues related to CPMA.
• Extensive background in business taxation within a Big 4, large national, or regional public accounting firm.
• Proven expertise in corporate taxation, encompassing tax planning, implications of tax reform, and intricate business tax matters.
• Strong experience in advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, transaction structuring, due diligence, and associated tax considerations.
• Excellent skills in research, analysis, and writing.
• Engaging and effective presentation abilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Capacity to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Solid communication and organizational skills.
• Strong technical capabilities with a commitment to further enhancement.
