
Senior Tax Accountant – Fund Tax Compliance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +3 more locations.
• Support the examination of U.S. partnership income tax returns (Form 1065), investor Schedule K-1s, and related workpapers for investment funds and management firms.
• Manage intricate partnership tax tasks, including aggregate and specific allocations, waterfall and carried-interest computations, book-to-tax discrepancies, and capital account management.
• Take responsibility for the comprehensive tax deliverables for designated funds, including overseeing K-1 delivery schedules and overall quality assurance.
• Oversee filing timelines, extensions, and deliverable schedules across various funds to guarantee timely and penalty-free submissions.
• Investigate partnership tax issues and clearly document positions for internal evaluation.
• Collaborate with fund accounting teams, external auditors, and onboarding groups to address challenges and enhance processes.
• Guide and train associates and interns, while contributing to workflow and quality enhancement initiatives.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 2–3 years of partnership tax experience in public accounting, fund administration, or a similar setting.
• A professional accounting credential — CPA, Chartered Accountant (CA), Enrolled Agent (EA), or a local equivalent — or significant progress towards one (strongly preferred).
• Practical knowledge of partnership taxation, Form 1065, Schedule K-1 preparation and review, and tax allocations.
• Proven ability to articulate complex tax issues clearly, both in writing and verbally to colleagues.
• Strong review capabilities and the discretion to identify and address issues before finalizing deliverables.
• Demonstrated ability to juggle competing deadlines and priorities across multiple projects during busy periods.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel; familiarity with professional tax software.
• Experience with private equity, venture capital, real estate, and/or hedge fund structures.
• Familiarity with tax software such as GoSystem or CCH Axcess and fund administration platforms.
• Exposure to SALT, international information reporting (Forms 8621, 1042), or investor withholding.
