This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
• Site Reliability Engineers play a crucial role in balancing development speed with the stability of customer-focused systems by employing SRE best practices and establishing automated processes.
• The Senior Site Reliability Engineer is tasked with developing and spearheading projects that measure services and workflows, while also engaging in the observability of production systems and services through daily operational duties, aimed at gaining insights to identify which repetitive tasks should be automated next.
• This role requires a DevOps mindset, functioning at the intersection of Cloud Operations, Engineering, and Technical Support within an Agile framework.
• Drive enhancements in both the platform and processes by applying established SRE principles, with the objective of boosting product and system reliability.
• Actively collaborate with individuals and teams as issues arise, serving as an escalation point for customer concerns to ensure successful resolutions.
• Conduct root cause analyses for customer-impacting issues, documenting solutions clearly and sharing insights derived from these findings with others.
• Develop technical documentation based on new technology proof of concepts, project actions, root cause analyses, identification of alerting patterns, and proactively disseminate this knowledge to other teams as part of the Continuous Improvement Model.
• Engage in team ceremonies to identify and refine potential tasks, communicate findings, and promote collaborative opportunities.
• Clearly communicate the business value and benefit hypothesis of new projects, initiatives, and strategies while breaking down the technical work required for successful outcomes.
• Facilitate technical collaboration across teams and departments during critical customer escalations.
• Provide guidance to stakeholders and senior leadership regarding critical customer escalations.
• Occasionally offer off-hours support for deployments and customer escalations.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in IT. (Required)
• Proven experience in identifying, tuning, and resolving software issues in Java. (Required)
• Familiarity with containerization and Kubernetes. (Required)
• Proficient in using system monitoring tools such as Grafana & Prometheus. (Required)
• Experience working within an Agile development framework. (Required)
• Skilled in optimizing SQL queries and conducting database engine tuning. (Required)
• Proficient in using and troubleshooting AWS services, including EC2, S3, CloudFront, EKS (Kubernetes), RDS (Aurora). (Required)
• Ability to create clear and concise technical documentation aimed at both technical and non-technical audiences. (Required)
• Experience in resolving production Java issues using native tools such as heap dumps, thread dumps, and profilers. (Preferred)
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions). (Preferred)
• Experience writing infrastructure as code (Terraform). (Preferred)
• Knowledge of defining and implementing Service Level Objectives. (Preferred)
• A Bachelor's degree or a combination of relevant experience and education may be considered.
