DevOps Engineer, German

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Ensure stability in the environment: Manage and support Linux-based testing environments, guaranteeing their availability, reliability, and readiness for development and testing activities.

• Application platform management: Oversee, monitor, and troubleshoot Java-based applications operating on Apache Tomcat and Apache HTTP Server.

• Containerized solutions operation: Provide support for Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift environments, ensuring seamless deployment, configuration, and runtime operations.

• Cross-layer issue resolution: Investigate and resolve incidents spanning application, infrastructure, networking, and environmental layers.

• Log analysis and root cause identification: Conduct log analysis, debugging, and root cause investigations to efficiently address complex technical issues.

• Operational task automation: Create and maintain Bash scripts to streamline repetitive tasks and enhance environment management processes.

• Database troubleshooting support: Assist in database-related investigations and issue resolution in Oracle and DB2 environments.

• Collaboration with technical teams: Partner closely with development and testing teams to prepare, maintain, and optimize test environments.

• Stakeholder communication: Engage with customer stakeholders and internal teams in both German and English regarding operational matters and environment-related issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in DevOps, System Engineering, Application Operations, Linux Administration, or a related field.

• Strong practical experience with Linux environments, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).

• Experience in supporting and troubleshooting Java-based applications on Apache Tomcat and Apache HTTP Server.

• Solid understanding of Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift environments.

• Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP) and ability to troubleshoot connectivity issues.

• Proficient in Bash scripting and automation of operational tasks.

• Experience with Oracle or DB2 databases, including basic SQL skills and troubleshooting capabilities.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities across infrastructure and application layers.

• Effective communication skills with technical teams and customer stakeholders.

• Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken.
