This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Serving as a technical consultant or project engineer.
• Utilizes fundamental engineering principles, procedures, and techniques to execute systems engineering assignments.
• Collaborates closely with other engineering disciplines to ensure effective inter-disciplinary communication and coordination.
• Offers technical guidance, leadership, and supervision.
• Coordinates efforts for proposals and new business initiatives.
• Supports Programs of Record (PORs).
• Provides technical and sales assistance for accounts within the assigned territory.
• Conducts technical presentations for customers, partners, and prospects.
• Actively engages as a specialist delivering consultative support in their area of expertise.
• Assists account managers across various sales territories.
• Develops conceptual specifications and test plans for systems and equipment based on customer or contract requirements.
• Investigates design concepts and feasibility using advanced technical theories and knowledge.
• Monitors project status and assesses system performance metrics.
• Ensures adherence to contractual obligations for all engineering tasks.
• Directs and contributes to the preparation and writing of proposal documents.
• Creates design proposals that reflect cost and schedule estimates for specified engineering tasks.
• Develops system architectures that relate requirements and interfaces.
• Conducts system requirements analysis and reviews system and subsystem design specifications.
• Provides marketing support and technical direction to engineers and technicians.
• Takes part in or leads the development of new business proposals.
• Participates in or leads both internal and external design reviews and status meetings.
• Engages in system modeling and simulation, trade studies, and system functional analyses.
• Maintains knowledge of and adheres to relevant policies and procedures governing work assignments.
• Complies with Cubic’s values and abides by all company policies and procedures.
• May participate in or lead a team effort to address engineering challenges or enhance engineering processes.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, with demonstrated experience in Information Technology (IT) and Internet Protocol (IP) networking.
• College education may be waived based on experience and certifications, such as Cisco, Aruba, VMware, and Microsoft, at the hiring manager's discretion.
• Proficiency with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and overall IP networking technology is essential.
• Capability to load, configure, and implement virtual machines in a VMware environment, along with proficiency in other hypervisors.
• Desired knowledge of deployed communications, including SATCOM, 3G/4G LTE, MANET, and fiber.
• Certifications such as Cisco CCNA, CCNP in Routing and Switching, Security, and IP telephony are preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are vital.
• Understanding of customer communication needs and competing products is essential; experience in the defense sector is a plus.
• Military communications experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Must be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
• Willingness to travel is required.
