Senior Systems Engineer – Media & Entertainment

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the technical relationship for MEGS opportunities, guiding the process from discovery and demonstrations through proof of concepts and architecture approval.

• Collaborate with account teams to validate deals and formulate technical strategies for high-performance workloads such as VFX rendering, editorial finishing, and live broadcasting.

• Create architectures that meet the requirements of modern production, focusing on throughput, low-latency access, scalability, and multi-site collaboration across post-production and distribution.

• Establish credibility with technical directors, post supervisors, pipeline engineers, and IT operations personnel.

• Develop and sustain the MEGS technical toolkit, which includes reference architectures, workflow demonstrations, solution briefs, and competitive positioning materials.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years in a customer-facing technical position (Systems Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Media Solutions Engineer) within a software, storage, or technology company, with at least 4 years concentrated in media and entertainment.

• Proven experience in leading complex pre-sales engagements from start to finish, with demonstrable results.

• Familiarity with the tools that customers utilize on a daily basis: editorial (Avid, Premiere), VFX (Nuke, After Effects, Flame), 3D and rendering (Maya, Cinema 4D), color correction (DaVinci Resolve), or sports broadcasting platforms.

• Strong understanding of unstructured data storage for media, including file system performance, metadata management, collaborative access, and high-throughput input/output, such as NFS, SMB, and object storage.

• Ability to engage effectively with creative, technical, and executive audiences in a single setting.
